GLOBAL UPDATE

Ride Nature Friends and Family,

Every movement reaches moments where it has to pause and ask a simple question: Is this still the best strategy to accomplish the mission God has given us?

For the last seventeen years, Ride Nature has existed with one heartbeat: to bring the Good News of Jesus Christ to the ends of the earth through action sports.

Along the way, God has opened doors we never could have imagined. From local skateparks to more than 65 nations we’ve had the privilege of visiting. From a ministry that began with just a handful of people to 31 full-time staff serving across three different locations. Every step, we have sought to listen, obey, and watch Him be faithful.

In 2018, God gave us vision to establish a Latin American HQ. In His faithfulness, in 2020, He provided people to lead, places to gather, resources to sustain the work, and partnerships that allowed that vision to become a reality. Just a few short years later that, doors also began to open for another location in Southern California.

We genuinely believed the Lord was leading those steps, and we remain deeply grateful for every person, every partnership, and every story that came from them.

As the ministry grew, so did our facilities, our team, and the complexity of what we were building.

Over the past year, we’ve spent significant time praying, listening, seeking counsel, and honestly evaluating where the Lord is leading us next.

One truth has continued to rise to the surface: God’s Kingdom has always been built through people who are willing to say yes to Him.

There is a quote from Hudson Taylor that has shaped countless missionaries and the foundation of Ride Nature as well: “God’s work done God’s way will never lack God’s supply.”

As we’ve prayed through this last season, we’ve come to recognize that God’s guidance is often revealed not only through the doors He opens, but also through the resources, leadership, and provision He chooses to provide—or withhold.

Rather than viewing those realities as obstacles, we are choosing to receive them as God’s loving direction.

We believe God, in His sovereignty has protected us from carrying burdens that would ultimately distract us from the mission He has entrusted to us.

Over the past few years, we’ve experienced a continued shortage of both financial resources and key leadership. We’ve prayed, recruited, and pursued men and women to help lead these efforts, yet the right people and long-term provision have not materialized.

Rather than striving to sustain what God has not fully supplied, we’re choosing to trust His sovereignty and allow these realities to refine our focus.

We’ve spent years building places, but we believe the Lord is calling us to invest even more deeply in mobilizing people.

We believe the Lord is leading us into a season of refinement.

Our vision has not changed.

We are still committed to bringing the Gospel to the ends of the earth.

What is evolving is the way we believe God is calling us to steward our people, our finances, and our energy in this season.

Over the coming months, we believe the Lord is leading Ride Nature into a season of operating from one primary home base, allowing us to steward our people, finances, and energy with greater intentionality.

As part of this season of refinement, Ride Nature will be closing our Southern California office and transitioning away from a permanent operational presence in this region. This decision is not a reflection of the people, partnerships, or community we have grown to love. We remain incredibly grateful for every volunteer, supporter, church, and friend who has faithfully served alongside us, and it is our sincere hope to continue investing in and serving Southern California through ongoing relationships, outreach opportunities, and future ministry partnerships.

We also anticipate additional transitions in Latin America as we continue to prayerfully evaluate how to best steward the people, resources, and opportunities God has entrusted to us. While the way we operate may evolve, our commitment to the leaders and communities throughout Latin America remains unwavering.

Our presence may look different, but our partnership and our passion for seeing the Gospel proclaimed throughout the world has not changed.

This is not a retreat from the mission.

It is a return to the foundation that launched the organization in 2009.

Our desire is to build a movement of faithful men and women who take ownership of the Gospel wherever God plants them.

We want to measure success not by the number of locations we operate, but by the number of leaders we equip, communities we impact, and disciples who are sent.

We believe that by embracing greater simplicity, the Lord will create greater capacity for multiplication.

The path may look different than we have recently imagined, but the destination remains exactly the same.

This has never been our ministry. It has always been His and our success has always been measured by our obedience. Because the outcome has never depended on our strategy, our buildings, or our ability. It has always depended on God and God alone.

We will continue to share the Gospel.

We will continue to give generously.

We will continue to raise up ordinary people who are willing to say yes to God and use the passions He has given them to reach a lost world.

Until EVERY ear hears!

THE LONGTERM

VISION

Until EVERY ear hears…

We will continue providing free skateboards and surfboards to children and leaders in need around the world, until every individual globally has access to the joy, the thrill, and the community that action sports bring.

We long to see every individual in the action sports industry reached with the Good News of Jesus Christ and will continue leveraging every available means so that the action sports community has the chance to see, hear, and respond to the Gospel.

We remain committed to equipping, empowering, and mobilizing leaders within action sports who are committed to carrying the Gospel and making disciples to the ends of the earth.

“you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
