If you’ve experienced the thrill and excitement of dropping in on a wave, you know the feeling that it brings. The power of the ocean pushing you effortlessly. Soaring above the water while at the same time feeling so insignificant in comparison to the expanse of the sea. This joy you experience quickly becomes a passion which in return becomes an obsession. And as a result, a community centered around a love for the freedom found in surfing is born.

Within the mission of Ride Nature, our hope and prayer is to see churches planted, developed, and ultimately to multiply all around the world. But finding a church that understands the culture of action sports isn’t exactly an easy task. Lucky for us, this was not the case with Casa Vida.

Situated outside of Tamarindo, Costa Rica, Casa Vida is one of the raddest churches we’ve been able to link arms with. A church full of leaders with some of the most powerful testimonies we’ve heard. Their love and passion for the surf community created an instant friendship between us. The stories that connect the leaders of Casa Vida church together are nothing short of a miracle. There is no question that there has been divine intervention to bring this group of men together to help build this church.

The church is not just a building made up of walls, nor man made attempts to hold inside the power at work within it. We as a body of believers make up the church and the reach extends far past any walls that may exist. For us as an organization, a team made up of surfers, skaters, wakeboarders, and snowboarders, it is in the passion and love for action sports that you’ll find the desire to share the joy that comes from those activities with others.

But the greatest thing that unifies our team and those that we get to partner with globally, is the change that we’ve experienced in our own lives because of the love and grace found in Jesus. That because of Jesus and the work that He did on the cross, we get to experience TRUE life, and have it to the fullest.

This is the Good News that we get to share with the world and the power that it brings far exceeds the stories that may precede it. Within the stories from Episode Four, “Costa Rica” you’re certain to find such power.
