Life in Germany may visibly seem easier compared to many of the places we have traveled. There’s no real physical need. You don’t see people begging for food at every corner, kids have shoes on their feet, and for the most part the people are very generous and hospitable.

But at what point do you look past the surface and realize that many are searching for something deeper? When we received an email in 2015 from Theo Thomas wanting to come intern from Germany, little did we realize the impact that would return to this small town in Germany. Coming back to his hometown, Theo returned with a passion to reach his friends and family and a fire in his heart that ignited a wave of impact in such an unexpected way and in an even more unexpected place.
