Episode 10 - “NICARAGUA”
In May of 2010, a group of 8 friends stacked skate decks literally duck taped together, and packed 6 surf bags with the seams busting, and set out on a trip that would ultimately pave the way for the future of Ride Nature as an established organization.
Not really sure what to expect but just confident of the call the Lord had put on our hearts to use skateboarding and surfing as a tool for ministry, we ventured out into the unknown on the very first Ride Nature mission trip to San Juan Del Sur, Nicaragua.
This episode tells the story of how it all began. While there had been multiple attempts from close friends and partners of ours, there was no evangelical Christian church/community that existed in the city of San Juan Del Sur. There were pockets of believers and those pursuing a deeper relationship with the Lord but the spiritual need for an established Christian community was much needed.
Since this episode, our ministry launched the first ever international base for Ride Nature. San Juan Del Sur became the home of "La Casa De Ride Nature" - the mission hub for all of the ministry taking place across Latin America.
Through this team, our desire has been to lead consistent and regular outreach in this community, offer a Spanish speaking discipleship program, and have a hub to equip and establish ministry leaders all over Latin America. Glory to God, He has allowed us to do all of that and beyond!
